Investing in our local hospital’s emergency and cardiopulmonary departments
A gift from the Elmer C. Biegel Family Memorial Foundation helped support two important projects at Asante Ashland Community Hospital this year.
The first is the purchase of a new Electrocardiogram Machine (ECG) for the Emergency Department. The ECG machine allows clinicians to diagnose heart issues quickly so life-saving treatment can be implemented to save heart muscle and provide the patient with the best chance at a full recovery.
The second is the purchase of a blood pressure (BP) machine to support cardiac stress testing in the Cardiopulmonary Department at AACH. Cardiac stress testing requires that the patient’s blood pressure be measured every three minutes to ensure their safety and tolerance of strain being placed on the heart. The BP machine will automate this process and provide a more efficient way to monitor patients during this test.
Our foundation is grateful to be able to support our local hospital to ensure that state-of-the-art equipment is available in our community.
