We are honored to award nursing scholarships to qualified students each year
Since 2002, the Ashland Community Health Foundation has provided financial assistance to those pursuing registered nursing degrees from the Oregon Health & Science University Ashland Campus (at Southern Oregon University) or Rogue Community College.

About the Donors
ACHF’s Nursing Scholarship Program is made possible through endowment funds established by the William G. and Ruth T. Evans family and the Colton Allen family.
The William G. and Ruth T. Evans Endowed Nursing Scholarship was developed through the generous contributions of Mrs. Ruth Evans (pictured) who initiated the scholarship in 2002. Since then, our community of donors has added to this fund each year to continue its legacy and impact on southern Oregon.
The Colton Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2024 by Tiffany and Jason Allen to support nursing students who also serve as a caregiver in their personal time.

“We thought the scholarships would be a good way to help young people with their education. Nurses are quite scarce and will be needed badly in the future.”
– Ruth Evans

Leaving a Legacy of Giving
Ruth T. Evans passed away on January 3, 2013, at the age of 96, leaving behind a bequest in excess of $2.5 million to the Ashland Community Health Foundation.
Mrs. Evans’ proudest accomplishment was establishing the Evans Endowed Nursing Scholarship. Since its creation in 2002, 415 scholarships have been awarded to 340 nursing students in excess of $1.3 million.
Tiffany Allen (pictured top, center), a two-time recipient of the Evans Nursing Scholarship, carried on Mrs. Evans’ legacy of supporting future nurses by co-founding the Colton Allen Memorial Scholarship Fund in 2024.

Support the Nursing Scholarship Fund
A nursing degree is expensive and often students graduate thousands of dollars in debt. With your investment, we can support local nursing students now and into the future.
