Karen and Allen Drescher have been supporters of ACHF with decades of board service between them, and annual giving through the Lights for Life campaign. We are honored to have Karen and Allen as members of our Bernard Society of Supporters.
Longtime Supporters
The Lights for Life celebration specifically has held a special place in Allen’s heart since its inception in 1987.
“Lights for Life is a great way to contribute to the foundation,” explains Allen. “You can memorialize a loved one or honor someone special. We donate to the Lights for Life campaign every year in memory of my mother. Whatever you choose to give helps the foundation and is deeply appreciated.”
Karen and Allen chose Board service in response to the exceptional care available so close to home.
“To have excellent quality health care right here in Ashland is remarkable,” says Allen. “I’ve had a few trips to the ER over the years. It’s reassuring to know that the hospital is there ready to provide excellent care.”
As a retired registered nurse, Karen knew how important it was to ensure the success of our community hospital.
“I want to do everything I can to strengthen Asante Ashland Community Hospital,” explains Karen. As the current chair of the Development Committee, Karen is excited about the expansion of the Foundation’s mission and focus on community health projects.
“This work is a community-wide process,” says Karen. “We are honored to be a small part of it, and with Cindy now serving as Board President it’s like we’ve come full circle.”
