Because of your generosity, our foundation was able to support a robust summer school program in the Ashland and Phoenix-Talent School Districts.
As summer comes to an end and kids begin their regular school year, we want to update you on the Help Our Kids Thrive Campaign to support children in our community.
The program helped children overcome the disruption of learning and trauma of loss due to the effects of the Almeda Fire and the pandemic by supporting three important components of summer school.
- The School Nurse Program was expanded over the summer so nurses could be available for students participating in summer programs in both the Ashland and Phoenix-Talent School Districts.
- In Ashland students received a learning boost through interactive educational videos and personal outdoor science kits.
- In Phoenix-Talent School District, donations helped cover the cost of materials for the summer program and provided special training for teachers so they can better meet students’ social-emotional needs, in addition to their academic needs.
Thank you for supporting Help Our Kids Thrive and children in the community. Through your generosity 871 students were able to overcome the disruption of learning and trauma of loss by participating in summer school.
