The name Ashland Community Health Foundation more accurately reflects how, today, we can best serve people in our community.
In August 2022, Ashland Community Hospital Foundation became Ashland Community Health Foundation. Although we only changed one word in our organization’s name, this is a significant shift for all of us. The foundation board and staff determined this is the right thing to do after lengthy discussion. We want to share the reasons for this shift with you.
As you are likely aware, we have broadened our reach over the past year and expanded our emphasis on community health. This is, in part, in recognition of how communities across the nation are moving to meet local health care needs. Through the generosity of our donors, we are now supporting local hospital and community-based health services and wellness programs, in addition to nursing and allied health scholarships.
The name Ashland Community Health Foundation more accurately reflects how, today, we can best serve people in the community. With the foundation’s updated name, we will continue to meet vital health and wellness needs in our community, just as we have since 1977. Our supporters will still have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference through our Patrons Campaign, Lights for Life, estate gifts and more.
Foundation staff will work closely with interested individuals, businesses, and organizations to match their charitable interests with critical unmet needs in our community. We will continue, as we have always done, to direct charitable gifts to benefit the programs and services most important to our donors.
As we become Ashland Community Health Foundation, we trust our relationship with you will remain as familiar and strong as ever. We look forward to exploring new partnerships and opportunities for our work together.
